Let's talk about Android 12 for a minute.

With the release of iOS 15 and the much-anticipated Android 12 (labeled "snow cone" by google), it's an exciting moment in the software industry.

So, the much-discussed Android 12 is almost here, and tech geeks all around the world have been waiting to see what this new update package has in store for us. Today's post will discuss the great improvements and increased functionality to expect from Android 12 (Snow Cone) as well as the devices that will most likely receive the Android 12 upgrade. Stayed tuned

So far, Google has largely worked behind closed doors on Android 12, or Android S (snow cone), as the system is known internally at the firm. The new mobile phone OS was only available to developers as part of three preview versions. That is beginning to change. The second public beta version has now been released by Google. We'll explain how to install it a bit later down in the text.

                    Android 12, What's new

Google offered us our first peek at Android 12 at the I / O developer conference. In addition, the firm has steadily introduced new improvements over the last few months. Among other things, the Android 11 successor will have the following advancements and innovations

                    Design

For Android 12, Google has chosen a new "Material You" design aesthetic. Instead of the premise "form follows function," the mobile phone OS's optics should now adapt to your mood.

You may, as previously predicted, select a main and accent color that will be applied system-wide across all apps. The colors would then be utilized as a backdrop for notifications or menus.

The first photos of Android 12's which have surfaced on the Internet gives us a glimpse  how the new interface will most likely appear. Google has officially confirmed the tapes' validity. This is how the new operating system will look like.

The system can also pick these colors to fit your backdrop if you like. However, for the time being, this functionality will only be available on Google Pixel devices.

                   Lock screen

Google is currently experimenting with light effects on the lock screen. Furthermore, if there are no alerts, the clock should be displayed larger than usually displayed inthe latter OS

                  Google Assistant

At the moment, you can only summon the Google Assistant voice command by using a voice command, a dedicated button on your phone, pushing the home button for a longer length of time, or using gestures. Rumors suggest that Android 12 will have two new choices added to make life rather easier

So far, Google has only verified one: you may activate the digital "assistant" by pushing and holding the power button.

                Security and Privacy

Google is following Apple's lead. A green or orange dot, similar to the iPhone, should indicate if an app is actively using the camera or microphone.

Use your Smartphone as a car key

In the future, you should be able to use the Android smartphone as a car key. Google is currently collaborating with BMW, among others, to achieve this goal.

                AVIF image file format

The AVIF picture file format will be supported by Android 12. Your pictures will be compressed even more. When compared to standards like JPEG, this should dramatically reduce memory use while maintaining image quality. When you think about it, the photographs we take these days are incredibly bright, crisp, and attractive, but you can't deny that they take up a lot of space on our phone memory. Images shot with our smartphone cameras might use up to 9mb of space just for one photo. With the AVIF picture format, we will be able to capture stunning, brilliant photos with smaller file sizes, allowing us to maintain the beauty while saving some space.

               Games mode

Rumors about a new game mode in Android 12 have been circulating for quite some time. Google has now verified this and shown the features. A floating toolbar provides rapid access to essential functionality such as quick settings, an FPS counter, and screen recording.

App launch animations that may be customized

Android 12 has its own interface that allows developers to design their own app launch animations. The backdrop color, for example, can be changed or played around with. The program launches in the background while the animation is playing. Pretty sleek right?!

There are almost 1,000 new emojis

Over 1,000 new and updated emojis are included in Android 12. Some images make greater use of the limited space, while others transition from day to night when dark mode is enabled.

               Access to third-party app shops

Google is said to be opening up the Android operating system to third-party shops with Android 12. Most smartphones come with the Google Play Store preloaded, but you may also install app shops such as the Amazon Store or the Galaxy Store and some couple of other 3rd party app store. In the future, the US maker may categorize such other retailers as "safe" and make installation easier. Google has not yet revealed the specifics of how this should look.

The cell phone has evolved into an identity card

Saving ID credentials on a smartphone was originally envisioned as a feature for Android 11, but a lack of worldwide standards stopped it from becoming a reality. The functionality might make its way to your smartphone with Android 12 according to the ISO 18013-5 mDLs standard.

            Apps in hibernation mode

Apps in Android 12 should be able to enter a "hibernation" state. Applications that you do not use or use only seldom should be "frozen." This should free up memory on the phone and improve speed.

            Network mode with restrictions

A new security feature in Android 12 may allow you to enable a "limited network" mode on your phone. In order to obtain network access, apps must follow specific criteria. You might, for example, build blacklists or access lists for specific programs.

            New split screen

In addition, Google plans to totally revamp the split-screen capability in Android 12. Nearby Share may potentially be used to share WiFi passwords, according to rumors.

The well-known Apple double-tap functionality should be incorporated in Android 12. As a result, you may launch apps or lock the screen. You should be able to choose whatever action you wish to take, much as on an iPhone.

            Picture-in-picture mode improved

Under Android 12, you may relocate movies you're watching in picture-in-picture mode to the display's edge. As a result, you may still call up and utilize applications while using your smartphone without being bothered by the running movie.

            Multitasking

With Android 12, multitasking on tablets and smartphones should be simpler. As with the iPad, there should be a new taskbar with the most frequently used apps. As a result, switching between apps is simple.

            360-degree audio

Google and Sony are collaborating on a method to enable 360-degree reality sound natively in Android 12. The operating system should have a decoder that allows you to listen to 360-degree sound using headphones or speakers that lack this capability.

            Recycle Bin

Android 12 will have a "trash can" that functions similarly to the recycle bin  on Windows and macOS devices. Apps and data can be removed, but not fully deleted. For a set amount of time, the data is kept in the recycling bin. The data will be permanently destroyed only once this period has elapsed or you manually empty the recycle bin.

Google Discover will have a new look

Google Discover, the official news app on android, might get a fresh look with Android 12. The logo should be stripped of all color and presented in white or grayscale. Furthermore, this shifts from the left to the center. The functionality of the news feed should remain unchanged.

A "conversation" widget should be included to Android 12. Notifications for missed calls, received texts, and reminders will be displayed there. In addition to new features, there should be a few modifications or limitations, such as the fact that third-party applications will no longer be able to replace the share sheet in Android 12.

The call duration will be displayed on screen

When the call screen is switched to the background, Android 12 should be able to display the duration of the call on the screen. till now , you've always had to return to the phone app to see/view your call duration, not anymore with android 12

No customizable icons and font of the system

Google is eliminating a popular feature from Android 12. You can no longer change the form, font, or color of the system with the new operating system. The "Pixel Theme" app, on the other hand, will not be totally eliminated, but will be replaced by the Dynamic Theming System. You may still change the color of a piece on the surface using this.

Please keep in mind that the following modifications are rumors that have yet to be formally confirmed by Google. The majority of the features have been seen in prior developer previews. They do not, however, have to be included in the final edition.

Now that we know what features to expect from Android S, let's discuss some other aspects of the next release.

When is Android 12 expected to be released?

After the second Android 12 beta was released in June, another episode is planned in August. Following that, Goolge intends to release the final version in accordance with the stated timeline. The firm does not provide a specific day or month for this. Google most recently launched updated Android versions in early September.
