Just about six days ago, I compiled a list of the world's strongest currencies and it got quite a sizeable number of people talking as they were surprised the Us Dollar didnt make the top ten list. I then thought it might be a good idea to also compile a list of the world's weakest currencies too and just when i was brooding over the thought of doing it, some of you requested i do it and since I've got no other reason for blogging other than to satisfy the quest of my readers, then i deemed it fit to do another research and here is the results. without further ado, lemme go straight to the point

2)São Tomé & Príncipe Dobra: Dobra ranks at number 2 among the weakest currencies of the world. It is the currency of Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe ( I doubt if any of ya know such country exists), shortly written as STD. One US Dollar is equal to 22,893 STD. The economy is based on imports. The highest denomination currency note of Dobra is 100,000 which is equivalent to 4.37 USD.

3)Vietnam Dong: Dong ranks at number 3 among the weakest currencies of the world. Almost every one of the generation living in their 30’s knows well about the famous war of Vietnam (if you dont know about the vietnam war or you probably havent heard about it,then you need to start updating your knowledge on the happening/histories that shook the world). That war was a defeat for the super powers but it ruined the economy of Vietnam at large. At the moment 1 US Dollar equals 22,592 Dongs. The situation gets much interesting when it is discussed with a resident of Vietnam and instead of being worried about the downfall of currency a rather unique comparison is made. The argument is that a good breakfast costs 30,000 VND on an average and when converted this cost is less than 2 Dollars and again, 2 Dollar is not enough money even to buy a Muffin in USA lolz. The highest denomination currency note of Dong is 500,000 which is equivalent to 22.13 USD.

5)Laotian Kip: Laos is one of the world's few remaining comunists states and one of east asia's poorest country. Kip ranks at number 5 among the weakest currencies of the world. Kip is the official currency of Laos from 1952. It is also among the less rated currencies on world. Currently 8,220 units of this currency are required to replace one unit of US Dollar. Inflation and the Financial Crisis that occurred in Asia in 1997 are the main reasons of the decline of countries economy. The highest denomination currency note of Laotian Kip is 100,000 which is equivalent to 12.17 USD.

10)Malagasy Ariary: The Malagasy Ariary is the official currency of Madagascar. The Malagasy Ariary was introduced in the year 2005. It is a very weak currency as you can exchange 3,207 Malagasy Ariary with 1 USD. The highest denomination currency note of The Malagasy Ariary is 10,000 The Malagasy Ariary which is equivalent to 3.12 USD.
11)Ugandan Shilling: The Currency of the Republic of Uganda is the Ugandan shilling. It is one of the weakest currencies of world. One US Dollar equals 3,582 shillings approximately. Uganda’s economy is mainly based on imports of Coffee and Tea. Despite many obstacles and regional wars Uganda’s economy is a growing economy and the economic situation is getting better. The highest denomination currency note of Ugandan Shilling is 50,000 which is equivalent to 13.96 USD.
NB : this list was combined by goggle and it is for official purposes , i guess it was meant to be for , travelers, tourists, migrants, businessmen and women bla bla ,so they can know what they will face if they choose to go to any of those aforementioned countries. However it might interest you to know that some currencies have been rendered useless, yes, so useless that they shouldnt even be categorized as 'weak'.. Maybe "dead' will suit them better or lets say worthless..There's a long list of them but the 'most worthless' is the ZIMBABWEAN DOLLAR
The zimbabwean dollar is soo worthless that even it country (zimbabwe) is deciding to scrap and ditch the currency. Zimbabwe has been using U.S. dollars since 2009, but it will become the official currency there soon. The exchange rate is $1 to S35,000,000,000,000,000. So it comes as no surprise that Zimbabwe is scrapping its local currency in favor of the U.S. dollar. As funny as this may sound,it costs 35 million zimbabwe dollar to buy an egg, 12 million for a biro, The highest note to be printed in Zimbabwe was the $100 trillion dollar bill. It was worth as little as US$5 and could only buy two loaves of bread. you think im lieing??? you can confirm my facts from google then.
