A new organ has just been officially discovered in the human body

While we were in school (science and biology students especially)  the various organs of the human body that were made known to us include "tongues,  kidney, lungs,  teeth,  bladder,  pancreas,  clitoris and the list goes on and on.  Little did we know that new discoveries are gonna be made talking "organ-wise"

As the world keeps evolving,  researches are being made, experiments are being carried out and this researches and experiment results in new inventions, discoveries, and modernization of technology which make our day to day activities  a whole lot easier

Well,  the medical world is not left out in keeping pace with the new trends of inventions and technologies and that has brought about the discovery of a new organ in the human body.  The organ is called "MESENTRY"

Although, the structure of this new organ is known but,  its function is still poorly understood, and studying it could be the key to better understanding and treatment of abdominal and digestive diseases. The new organ is found in our digestive systems, and was long thought to be made up of fragmented, separate structures. But recent research has shown that it's actually one, continuous organ.

One of the earliest descriptions of the mesentery was made by Leonardo da Vinci, and for centuries it was generally ignored as a type of insignificant attachment. Over the past century, doctors who studied the mesentery assumed it was a fragmented structure made of separate sections, which made it pretty unimportant. But in 2012 , Coffey and his colleagues showed through detailed
microscopic examinations that the mesentery is actually a continuous structure.

Over the past four years, they've gathered further evidence that the mesentery should actually be classified as its own distinct organ, and the latest paper makes it official.

So there you have it...  I think this news should be passes to all medical /sciences students, teachers and writers especially so as to upgrade the knowledge we've always known about organs and they should follow this news relating to the mesentery keenly, it's about time we start having our say in the world of science too
