After 6 years its launch, Whatsapp is now able to send documents through chats.This feature is presently available as an update in android and iOS platforms with several other new features. As of now, users can only send pdf files, other document formats like doc" and "txt" can't be sent yet, but hope whatsapp does something about that in the coming days
Get the upgraded WhatsApp version. WhatsApp is rolling out the update via its servers, so you will be automatically updated within the next couple of days. If you're not, download the latest version of WhatsApp from your app store. Bear in mind, the feature only works when you and the recipient of the document both are using the updated version of WhatsApp.It is to be noted that sharing is not possible unless, both the user and the recipient's WhatsApp version has been updated. So it is advised that you visit your various mobile platform stores to update us whatsapp so as to enjoy this new feature.
For 🤖 Android phones:
Launch WhatsApp
Tap on an ongoing conversation in the Chats tab to open an existing thread
To top left of your chat screen there's a paperclip icon. Click on it You'll see 6 icons, click on the first one titled "Document" (purple), if the recipient has not yet updated their WhatsApp version , a message will come up if the recipient has upgraded you'll be presented with a list of PDF documents on your mobile device to select from
Select one by tapping on it, then press send.
For Apple phones:
Launch WhatsApp
Tap on an ongoing conversation in the Chats tab to open an existing thread
To bottom right of your chat screen there's an arrow in a circle icon. Click on it You'll see 5 options, click on "Share Document", if the recipient has not yet updated their WhatsApp version , a message will come up if the recipient has upgraded you'll be presented with a list of PDF documents on your mobile device to select froom
Select one by tapping on it, then press send.
